Man, I wasn't sure about that race at all. The lap down penalty cuz your in the pits when the caution comes out is sketchy at best. That one alone pretty much ruined the race for a lot of people. Granted I'm not saying if you're in the pits and get lapped on the track, you should get it back, just the rule that you go an additional lap down, no matter what, seems really retarded/unfair. I don't think there's any fan that wants to only see 9 (15 by the end of the race
) cars on the lead lap battling it out...

Spidey, Congrats!!! Can I ask a favor? Can hubby get me the address of that pit guy that got the tire? I would like to send him a little package right after I clean up from the dogs in the backyard.
Not saying that I would have done better, since Labonte was doing his victory doughnuts during the race. But still!

Curious what everybody thinks of this crew member getting suspended 4 races for chasing the tire....I thought it was a bit unfair, sure he shouldn't have done it, but the guy feels bad enough, suspending him 4 races seemed ridiculous to me. They don't suspend a driver 4 races for doing something stupid. He thought he was doing the right thing, he didn't really think about how potentially dangerous it was. I feel bad for the guy.

Sounds like NASCAR is trying to send a message. What that is, dunno. Maybe, "when in doubt, just stand there with your thumb up your a........"

The caution was gonna come out anyway, the tire was rolling toward the track. Even if it didn't make it to the track the caution was gonna be thrown. Maybe if the tire stopped away from the track, they could have waited till after everybody stopped. I doubt this though, one car hitting that tire who knows where it would of went. This is a new team and the guy is a fire fighter during the week and this is a part time thing for him. I have seen other teams guys cross pit road chasing tires, but never that far. Four race suspension kinda harsh I think. Nine cars on the lead lap after that was really crappy.
