yeah your right, nascar is not exciting at all... see the first 2 cars, their drag racing to the finish while the other 30 cars behind them, inches apart are racing for position, and this was the result. but your right whats exciting about a bunch of cars inches apart going 190 mph, while knowing one little slip will end your day.

i can go downtown and see dumb rednecks from the boonies try to drive in the city and crash into each other too, its not all that interesting especially for 5 hours

I used to think the same way until I actually went to a race. It is amazing to see, hear, and feel the speed at which those cars run and how close they are to each other. It takes a big pair to sit behind that wheel and they have my full respect.

there have been plenty of drivers from other curcuits try to make it in nascar. Michael Andretti, Boris Said, and Robby Gordon are 3 that come to mind. none of them have amounted to squat. so saying that nascar drivers can't get it done against "real" race car drivers is not a valid point.
though I do agree it's boring, it's no more boring than baseball, golf, or the current pathetic event they pass off as "boxing". but nascar (like boxing) CAN be fun. like when somebody wrecks somebody else and they fight in the pit area.
the thing that ticks me off with nascar is that they no longer use "stock cars", they shouldn't be allowed to call it "stock car" racing.

Well, I'd post a pic or two of a pikes peak hill climb, but I can't figure it out. I have an "attach files" box near the bottom of this page, and an "insert image" button on the tool bar above this text box. The attach file thing doesn't recognize my attachment, and the insert image just gives me a text box that I have no clue what to do with.
Too complicated for me, plus this isn't my personaly computer so i'm not willing to mess with it much. Oh well.
Anybody else with picture uploading knowledge care to represent some Pikes Peak or WRC fans and upload a pic or two?

There are two types of people in the world. And the way you can tell is if you have been to a nascar event.
One person will hear the powerful roar of the motor and not be impressed and awestruck.
The other will jump up and down like a little kid and pee in his pants or hers. And or maybe feel some sort of arousal. And be hooked for the rest of their life.
If you feel that same feeling when buzzed by a squad of f-15's or feel that when your are a few hundered feet from a tornado. You go to a nascar event and you're going to like it too.
I fall into the second group.
Nascar isn't for everyone.

I think they should strategicly place landmines and tirespikes on the track .... that would make it a good sport

I agree with this guy on all parts except I don't pee my pants when I hear them. I like nascar but baseball is boring.

This has really deteriorated.
Now it's just NASCAR bashing. I understand some points about NASCAR being boring, i agree with most. But you can't deny it's a difficult motorsport. It has it's niche and it is a good proving ground for manufacturers to test endurance. But it is wastefull and it is boring; you can only watch a car go 180 miles an hour or so in a circle for so long, I think everyone would agree the majority of NASCAR excitement comes from crashes.
Anyways, I really, really want to post pictures of WRC or Pikes Peak to contrast those of the NASCAR pics, believe me they would, but still can't figure out those buttons. Anybody with pic posting knowledge care to google WRC or Pikes Peak images and post a few?

how can you put ice hockey on your list, i guess you dont like MMA either, im sure i can go on youtube and find some figure skating or womens gulf, you seem like the type that would enjoy that.
