I see quite a few nashville area people here, so thought it would be fun to start a thread! This way we can ask each other question and stuff from around our own area! Post a pic of your tank, size and all that stuff. I am in Franklin area. I have a 90 gallon reef....but am getting ready to upgrade to a minimum 180 here shortly.... I am hooked! Been doing this only since January but have had freshwater for alot longer. Here are a few pics of my tank, now lets see yours!

Ohiorn,
Sorry for jumpin on your Nashville thread but I just wanted to say cool reef tank. I also have a 90 gal but still setting it up. I noticed your lights that you were using. What type of lights are you using if you dont mind me asking? And did you have to make those little feet to hold it up on the tank or did that come with the base to hood to hold the lights?

HI, Thanks for the compliments! These lights are new orbits that are 4x96w. I LOVE them..however, I will be upgrading to a 6 to 8 foot tank and will be selling these if you are in the least interested, but it will be probably a month or so before I do a transfer. I used to have 4x65, they were just not enough for the deep 90 gallon tank. As soon as I put this on the tank, my things have flourished as you can see. The legs were an option and they are very sturdy with holding the lights in place, I also don't have any heat issues which is nice....since it has 2 good size fans on it....

ohiorn,
i wouldnt mind picking up the light setup from you. just send me an email - jambi0n@yahoo.com. yeah, your tank is just awesome lookin, and you said that you just started in january? thats great considering that the tank is still pretty new according to others that have had their tank up and running for years.
Also, how many #'s of LR do you have in there, I was thinking of putting in abour 120 #'s of LR and maybe 60-80 #'s of LS.
Hopefully my tank will be as nice as yours in a few months.

I have 80 lbs of live sand and 130 lbs of rock. My full tank pics I just realized are the older ones...oops, I have the newest from the other day, I have several more corals now....here is the pic. I may even purchase the same lights but 72 inches because I don't want to get into needing to buy a 500+dollar chiller. here is the newest tank pic

Is Collierville close enough to Nashville to count? We have a pretty decent tank builder located between us. I'm looking at one of his 180's as we type. FOWLR is it for me. Partially color blind so reef's are kinda wasted on my eyeballs.

We actually have a club starting here in Clarksville, TN. I signed up at L & L Pet Grooming off of Ft Campbell Blvd. I should be getting an email with more info soon if you are interested. I think we plan on having auctions, trades, meetings, etc.
Email me your name, phone #, email address that you read most frequently if you want me to add it to the list for you. I think I'm going back to L & L tomorrow actually.

Ohiorn, we definately need to keep in touch once the two clubs start up so we can try to schedule activites together. The more people we get involved in this the better. :)

Hey Ohiorn67, Dickson is the place. Real nice guy named Tom. Make sure you have something to write with for directions as his operation is a couple of miles beyond the accepted definition of "boonies". He builds up to 820 gal glass tanks. They are heavy duty and can be drilled or customed any way you like. Great quality and prices and a really neat operation to visit. Him and his wife escaped from Chicago years ago to regain their sanity. From talking to them I'd say they made the right choice.
