Naso isnt eating !

was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on why my Naso isnt eating...ive only had him for about 4 days and he's swimming with all the other fish i have very well, (no stress) water conditions are great also, he was eating well before i baught him and i have been trying brine shrimp,brown seaweed,green seaweed,formula ll flakes and frozen, and he doesnt seem to want to eat !! kinda losing weight, he's about 4 inches in length , a well established fish !! can anyone help? i would appreciate it thanks..:notsure:

Im surprised the live brine srimp did not work, something else you can try is if i have a butterfly that is fincky i go to the food store, and get a fresh muscle, open it rinse it and put it in the bottom of the tank not only do my butterflies eat it put so do my angles and TANGS powdered blue,hippo,dejardian. when there done eating it just take the shell out

My first naso did the same thing, he was dead on day 6. Not sure if he had a parasite or what...probably just too stressed.

Try live culapera (sp) sorry cannot spell today. that will always get a naso to eat. Put it under a rock and he will munch away. They seem to like bubble best.

Well if you were not so far away I could get you some tonight. It is the seaweed like plant life we keep in the fuge. Most tangs that wont eat love this stuff. For some reason it is almost like Naso tangs have to learn to eat other stuff. Mine has been living on it for 4 weeks now he is finally eating brine and flake. It normally comes in Razor, bubble and there are some other varities. Bubble seems to be the easiest to eat.

thank you for your info, so where can i locate it so i can purchace it myself ? are you employed at a LFS ? if so i'll come to your store to purchase it ?

hey doc, i mannaged to find the culapera (?) at a lfs, i really do apperciate all the help though, its in the tank as we speak, i think she's eating it late at night when we're crashed out, cause its slowly dissapearing, altough we have a sohal tang thats a pig ! any way i did see her nip at it a couple of times very little, but any eating to me will make me happy, i really think she's a late night eater cause she's stopped losing weight , thank you for all your help we really do appreciate it, and send me some info your lfs. k ? thanks again

Great! I am happy to hear she is doing better. I will drop you an email about the store and maybe you would want to come to the frag trade this weekend?
