i woke up this morning to discover this alien looking thing flipping around in my tank...upon closer examination it was definetly a nass?? sp snail without it's shell.....my question is will a new one grow back or is he probably a goner,.......he seems to have a hard time trying to bury himself in the sand for obvoius reasons..no shell......the place where the shell should be just looks like intestines .....no pics and it is not some other snail....just a nass snail without a shell

no,...100 % sure it's a nass....he is now just moving around in the tank .....it's funny the body parts almost make him look like he has a turban towel on him....

They can survive without the shell but they are unprotected from predators. Given time it could theoretically grow a new shell but it's very unlikely because something will probably eat it long before then.
