Nasty Hitchhiker?

Ok, now I have heard of fish disappearing because something ate them when the lights were turned out. In fact i have lost two chromis and a domino damsel. I figured they must have swam into my condy. But the other day my chocolate chip starfish(which I was going to get rid of anyways) disappeared overnight. Does anybody know what could have completely eaten him in one night. he was about 4 inches. I have a feeling I have a very nasty hitchiker in my LR. I check it out at night and have never seen anything but a foot long bristle worm. Any ideas guys?

dam* a foot long bristle worm! Yeah that might not be a problem. I had a reef lobster devower a couple of fish in one night. I have also seen a harlequin shrimp eat a small starfish over a day or so. Or maybe they died because of your water parameters being off. Have you searched your rock/tank for the corpses?

I had the same problem. It was due to a couple of Mantis shrimp in my tank. Do you hear any "clicking" or "popping" at night?

I would not doubt if your bristleworm ate your chromis. I know for sure that I have a 3 inch bristleworm and it has eaten one a my green chromis too. I have tried to capture it but its an illusive creature. You might be able to set a trap but they never worked for me...I just make sure that my fish are bigger than the bristleworm...
