Had to post this to gross people out....it's from a book under 'Disease' and I can't look at this picture every time I flip to that page I have to close my eyes.:eek: :eek:
I still get chills....

So what exactly IS that? It doesn't look like a growth. Looks like some sort of creature using the fish as a host, kind of like a remora to a shark...

I have that book! Concientious Marine Aquarist. The pic I don't like to see in the book is on page 167. cynide collection.:(

Just an FYI for any newbies reading......zooplankton is pretty much ANY animal in the water column. Phytoplankton are tiny plants in the water, bacterioplankton (sp?) is bacteria in the water, and zooplankton is any animals in the water. Zooplankton is the diet of MANY MANY reef creatures, and it certainly is not a single animal, it is any tiny animal, mostly babies from spawning of worms, pods, shrimp, etc.......not a bad thing.
