Hmm, interesting trade there, I agree with Heat, that Miami needs help and size down low, but for me this is a steal for Toronto, Shawn Marrion is a far better overall player than J. O'Neal, a much better rebounder (he averages more Reb. per game than O'Neal) and defensive player than O'Neal. Dumb trade for Miami IMO.
WHAT?? I couldnt disagree with you MORE! Even though I love Shawn Marion he was NOT a great fit for our slower tempo team. HENCE career LOWS in pts, rbs, ast, He will much more be suited in a more uptempo team which Toronto is trying to accomplish.
Jermaine is averaging almost 14ppg 7 rpg and gives us a much needed size and a low post scoring option and will take double and triple teams OFF Of Wade as well. He can still play SOLID defense as well. He is still NOT 100% and is only going to get healthier! I really believe he will be REBORN in Miami! look out for a daily 20 and 10.

Heat definitely got the better part of the deal on this one.
That knocks them out for Amare

You absolutely know your team better than I do, I would think with your current personel the Heat should be semi-uptempo. The average fan (not saying you are) doesn't really appreciate all the little thing Shawn does. Great "on the ball" defender, great "help" defender, very good passer, very good rebounder, really the only thing Jermaine does better is block shots. I understand you are trying to be positive as I was when we traded Marrion for Shaq, but we are a far worse team without Marrion, and 35 year old Shaq is better than Jermaine O'Neal ever has been or ever will be....Period.

Wait and see.

I see John Stockton, David Robinson, and Michael Jordan made the final 16 finalists for the Hall. Now who would think Michael Jordan of all people would make the Hall on his first try?

Yep!!!

I agree that Marion is an underrated player. He seems to have taken the rep of being trade bait at this point in his career. I wonder if this guy turns into Chauncey Billups in that he'll be moved a bunch until he finds a team to build around him for the long term.
Toronto just got better. I'm just skeptical about O'Neal... he's been a shell of himself for the past couple years.

Well my Bulls just made a trade, Drew Goodan and Andres Nochioni off to Sacramento in exchange for Brad Miller and John Salmons. I hate the idea of getting rid of Noch but we needed a change, we shall see....
