unfortunately, I saw a beautiful Hawk the other day, I see them all the time in Germany usually in farmers fields, but this one was on the Autobahn at dusk at 115 mph. The car in front of me hit it and it went tumbling past my door. I felt so bad for it.

What a dummy. Why not just throw something up in the tree instead of hiting it by driving the ball at him @ 100mph.He didn't think he would hit it.If you shot at it 10 times sooner or later your going to hit it.

I see your meaning. Here's a description of their feeding habits from fws.gov
Lacking the ability to take off from water, frigatebirds snatch prey from the ocean surface using their long, hooked bills. Prey primarily consist of fish and squid. Juveniles and adults often obtain food by piracy from boobies, tropicbirds, and shearwaters. Frigatebirds often supplement their diet by this type of harassment.
Pirates. A good thing to see when your out fishing though.
Tizzo, wait till you see the sandhill cranes. I get alot out here where I live. They are 3' tall and not scared of much.
We also have Kestrels which are basically small hawks about 8-10" tall.

That is an awesome shot of the hawk!
I need to get my camera out next time I see our little friends... a deer family, groundhog that lives in our woods, 2 hawks and a few falcons etc. Then of course the ever pesky squarrels that sometimes scare the living daylights out of me by hopping on my upstairs office's window sill and stare me in the eye
That's NC nature for ya!
