I have a 14g biocube.
8-9lbs of lr
ls
Maxijet 400
1-perc clown
1-Twinspot goby
2-Blue legged hermits
2-Turbo Snails
1-Emerald crab
1-Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
I just added the power head because I started getting some red slime algea on my sand, and my sand is starting to get "Chunky". What is something that I can get to keep my sand clear and clean?

the sand sifting gobies also eat stuff in the sand that are beneficial but do keep the top of the sand clean. I have Nassarius snails and they are awsome. Not positive but i think if a cucumber dies they throw out their insides which can't be good for your tank.

Well that would depend on the size of the cucumber.... LOL
Believe it or not I had a scooter blenny that passed in my tank about 2 weeks after it was set up. He wasnt enoumous but neither is my tank, 29 gal. He was about 1.5" long and its a long story but I felt really bad and was very upset at the LFS that sold him to me, they never told me about how dependent they are to an unestablished tank. Anyway 2 months later and i havent seen him, I am pretty confident he passed. Point is my levels never moved. I thought that was odd, my nitrates went up a bit but nothin even close to dangerous. And I can confirm he didnt make it to the back of the tank, even if he did and he died he would still throw my levels if it was going to happen.
There is also a sand sifting star fish too, it wont add to your bioload and you can still get another fish. If you dont like the gobies and jawfish.

No I love my twin spot, so far he is my favorite saltwater fish I have had. I am interested in the star fish though. Do they eat the same beneficail stuff like the gobies? Or do they just eat detritus? If thats the case im getting one tomorrow.

Your Biocube 14g is too small for the sand sifting star. It will probably starve to death in a few months.

Try a conch or two. Some species will eat the cyano. It is hit or miss, but they all turn the sand over really well.
