After All The Hard Work And Patience My Aquarium Started Leaking Out The Bottom Glass Seam. Started With Just A Drop Here And There And Now Its Leaking A Gallon A Day. Can Anyone Tell Me The Best Place "price Wise" To Buy A Replacement. I Thought If I Immediately Reintroduced Everything As It Was Back Into A Replacement I Would Have Minimum Die-off If Any. The Measurements Are 48x24x30. Reef Ready Or Not. Maybe I Can Sell The Leaking Tank To A Do It Your Self Guy And Recoop Some Of The Loss. ...thanks.

Just buy a tube of sealant. At the warehouse we used to fix tanks with the fish in them at least once a week. Don't pull any of the old stuff off, just lay a bead overlapping the leaking area. The water pressure will push the sealant in right where it's leaking.

THAT WOULD BE TOUGH WITH A 4 INCH SAND BED WITH LIVEROCK ON TOP. I ALSO HAVE NO IDEA WHERE ITS LEAKING BECAUSE OF THE PLASTIC TRIM THAT SURROUNDS THE BOTTOM COMPLETELY. YOU REALLY CANT SEE ANYTHING. SHOULD I JUST PUT A BEAD AROUND THE ENTIRE BOTTOM SEAM. WHAT TYPE OF SILICONE ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THAT WILL CURE UNDER WATER? THANKS FOR THE HELP!

I would never ever trust a fixed tank like that in my house.--It may work but not a chance I would take.--I know it bites to buy a new tank but IMO I would try to do ASAP.--Even if it is a slow leak who says it wont just burst in the middle of the night?--Sorry I can't help on a low price one.--If it was me I would go get a Rubbermaid tub or 2 for the livestock until you can--replace the tank.--Then I would look at acrylic as I would bet this is a glass tank?

Yeah, hard with a sand bed. If you don't have the $s for a new tank move everything into something else. It's a pain but you'd have to do that if you got a new tank anyway. Rinse it out good and tear out all the old seal and put in some new stuff. You can get a big caulk gun sized tube at home Depot or somewhere.

Get new tank. A leak that is slow today will flow tomorrow, I learned the hard way.
