I have a 65 gallon sea clear system 2. I bought it use for 100.00 because the guy couldnt figer out how to fix the pump in the back. any ways i have a salt water tank going and would like to know what kind of lights would be best for fish and coral and what not. Also should i get live rock for this tank and what is the best kind of skimmer for this set up. Any other advice would be greatful.

If your want a lot of coral and anemones your should get medal halides. But if your don't want them then you should get VHO. They saw about 3-5 wats per gallon or more. Yea you should get live rock, your dont have to but it makes your tank lood a lote nicer and it makes a foundation for your corals that your want to get. I really don't know that much about skimmers, sorry.:nope:

Get as much LR and LS as possible also look at metal halide lights or VHO's... I suggest metal halide. Rule of thumb 5 watts per gallon. Skimmer wize i would use a prizm deluxe if your on a budget, if not get the best money can buy.

seaclone 100 skimmer man!!
i had a prizm deluxe for a day and it didnt do jack for me.. i returned it.. not to mention the collection cup is a pain in the arse to remove, then you gota remove the lil air tube too.. the seaclone did about 4inchs of skim for me in 2.5days.. and its real easy to remove the cup..
you dont need a lot of LR.
get about 20lbs of LR and 60lbs of Base rock.. its much cheaper that way..
but u cant put live stuff in there till ur cycled..
bye
