Need algae cleaner help

Hello, I'm new to saltwater and have had my 37 gallon tank for about 8 weeks. The chemical levels are great, nitrates and nitrates at perfect levels, the fishies are happy.
Question is this: got lots of brown algae on the live rocks and sand and on the fake plants. What will help get them cleaned?
I have two hermit crabs and they aren't as active and not cleaning the sand as much and I also have two snails. What do I need to get to keep the brown algae controlled?
Thanks for the help! BTW, I was thinking some cleaner shrimp and clams, but is there a fish that will do the job? I've got two damsels and two small orange clowns right now.

sounds like you have diatoms...which is normal for the first 6 months. As far as I know from researching you are at your limit for fish (4)...you also put more sand sifter snails in there as well to kinda move the sand around and clean it up...i dont know the exact name of the snail of hand...if your using tap water you will also get alot of algae breaks..we recommend using RO (reverse osmosis) water...

Dumb question....where do you get RO water? And yes, I've been using tap water. The tank was looking really pretty, now it's just brown and a bit yellow looking. I'm just glad the cycling is over and everything else is okay...now I just have to deal with this.

Check your local fish stores and walmarts. Make sure its RO not just filtered drinking water. It sell for about .50 a gal around by me.
