My temper got the best of me today and I did something stupid. I got tired of not being able to catch my mantis shrimp and lost it
. I saw the mantis in a piece of LR covered with hairy mushrooms, I figured he was in it, and yanked it out of the tank. Then I stuck the LR in a cold freshwater bowl for about 5 mins. Nothing came out. Then I turned the sink sprayer on it. Again, nothing came out. I put the LR back in the tank and you can imagine what mt mushrooms looked like. They looked really bad. They have also been oozing since I put them back. My questions are these:
Did I kill the Shrooms and how do I tell if they are dead?
Will the ooze hurt my other corals? They didnt open up good after the incident.
Is there anything I need to do at this point?
ON TOP OF IT ALL I STILL DIDNT GET THE
#^%!& MANTIS!!!!!!!

Only time will tell for the shrooms. Just leave them in the tank. If you have any fresh activated carbon you might want to put that in.
Try getting some club soda (just regular carbonated water) and pour it into the hole the mantis is in. In a matter of seconds it should come flying out.

Thank You Viper. The only problem is that I have such a small tank that traps are hard to fit in and the tank only has 2 pieces of LR one of which is hugh and barely fits in the tank and they are both covered with coral.
