Can anyone tell me what these are? they look like green cacoons. Im guessing they are a type of algae.

codium algae. its ok to have in the tank , they feed off of calcium

generally, no. being calcerous they arent all that appetizing to most creatures. there may be a predator for it but I am unaware of it.
