im not sure. .i thought it could be some kind of a star polyp?
when i bought the rock with some mushrooms on it there was some star polyps on other rocks next and around it so i though i would let u know.. i just noticed it as it had been spreading.

Looks just like my yellow star polyps only yours are red. I would say that they are red star polyps

Looks like xenia, get some peperment shrimp. They will eat it if it should not be there. I have 5 and they are reclusive and fun...maybe because of the 2 cleaners I have. My wife loves them, calls them "ninja" shrimp. They just dart out at feeding time. Got them from advice here on how to control aptasia. Aptasia are gone! (yeah I know I can't spell)

yeah I stand by that. it really looks like a red striped xenia........ possibly a really dark anthelia but I doubt it. (note: red striped does not = red sea xenia) just clarifiying a common misconception. kind of like a pulsing xenia and pom pom xenia often misconstrued but definatly not the same.
