NEED HELP ASAP - DISCHARDED A FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN APT...
I was cooking supper and came back in from outside on bbq and noticed a 2 foot flame on top of the stove couldn't find a lid so next best thing was fire extinguisher..
Right after that i put fans on and then i'm like the FISH tank,...
We covered it up with towels.. and turned off the light so not to cause another fire... (stupid me...)
what precautions should i do with the Tank.....????

How close is the tank to the fire? If you think anything harmfull went into your system? Do a 10% water change just in case. If your talking about your tank starting a fire make sure your outlet is GFI.

No more cooking for you
If is was a grease fire you ALWAYS want to put a lid on it. Most people panic in a situation like that, but at least you put the fire out. Good job!

Dry chemical extinguishers are filled with either foam or powder, usually sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) or potassium bicarbonate, and pressurized with nitrogen. Baking soda is effective because it decomposes at 158 degrees Fahrenheit and releases carbon dioxide (which smothers oxygen) once it decomposes.

Baking soda is perfectly safe for a tank. I use it sometimes to raise my pH levels. Check your pH and your alk. I wouldn't worry about it.
