My Local Fish Store Told Me To Go With Crushed Coral, So I Did. After Reading Some Threads Here I Think I Made A Mistake. The Crushed Coral I Have Is Very Small, Or Very Fine In A Way. Can I Mix My Crushed Coral With Some Live Sand. Is This O.k Any Suggestions. Thanks

If you have the very finely crushed coral, you should be ok. If you have the stuff that is dime size (like I have) then your nitrates will be higher because all the detrius material gets caught up in it and you cleaning crew cant access it real well.

Don't put sand on top of corse CC it will just migrate up to the top over time and you will have a big mess. If you keep the CC keep it clean by vacuuming during water changes.
Its kinda a either or situation.....
No worries when you want to change then do it if not the CC will work just keep it clean.

I Need To Start The Cycle Of The Tank, So I Bought Some Live Sand And Was Going To Put It On Top Of My Cc To Help Me Start The Cycle. I Will Not Be Able To Get Lr Untill Next Week, So I Thought This Might Just Get Me Started. Ids This A Stupid Idea?

I don't think it will hurt anything, but like Tim said, over time the CC will migrate to the top. Then you might not get the "look" that you are wanting. I guess it also depends on how deep you want your sandbed. A lot of people will add base sand and then add live sand to the top to seed it.

How big is the CC? Like pea gravel or smaller than a pinhead? LS has bacteria that will break down the ammonia you need something that will give you the ammonia. Either ghost feed with fish food or better yet throw a raw cocktail shrimp in there and let it get nasty......
Can you post a pic?
