Hey guys ! I am working on my 220 FOWL tank, its almost done, and I have a thread on the Aggressive section, that needs to be update. I've been surfing the net and seen one, an
ODYSSEA 72" 384W.Its 96Wx4,2008 model with 12000k daylight bulb and 2 Actinic 03 PC bulb. I was wondering if this would be a good choice for me, anyhelp would be great, thanks !

What kind of frame do you have on top of your tank? I had to get a 72" because of the top.
I also am looking for new lighting for my 225g, but I am looking for MH, I want an anemone, and in most everyones opinions you can't keep one w/o MH lights.
I have the coralife 384W with actinic, and also blue led moonlights...I really like it, but if It is not sufficient for an anemone wellll....About the Odyssey, I did some research on them, and there seems to be issues with fires....Lets just say if there is a small percentage that it would catch on fire that was enough for me....I have too much money in my home to risk it....google the light, and see what reviews you get.

I've been going through the same thing, but for a reef tank. I heard good things about a 72 inch Constellation (t5 fixture), but I ended up going the retro fit MH route.

If you are doing fish only, I would recommend the coralife...and the led blue moon lights are beautiful....If I had a good camera I'd send you a pic, but my camera stinks.
I got it for under $400...If I get the MH, I'll be selling mine. Only had it 2 months...lol...This is why I say research what you want before you buy.
As much as I Love the light, the watts just don't work with what I am wanting in my tank.
If you want to look, it is model #CD-18791 72" at drs

The Corallife looks good, and also a popular brand. Should I stick with that-?

If you are 100% sure you will only be doing fish, I would say yes on the Coralife. Like I said I really like mine, but it won't work for an anemone.....

Thanks man ! So Corallife it is. How are the LEDS-?
I found a -Coralife Lunar Aqualight 72" 384w, that includes 5 - 470nm LED Lunar Lights.The specs are below:
Coralife now offers its famous Aqualight Deluxe Series Strip Lights with a Moon Glow Lunar System. This unique light combined with 10,000k daylight and 03 Actinic offers a complete reef lighting system.
Lunar lights add a 470nm soft, low light for a complete 24 hour system. The 470nm lights create a unique shimmering effect that has to be seen to believe. It also allows you to observe nocturnal behaviors, and helps promote lunar spawning cycles.
All Lunar Aqualights feature a built in electronic ballast, two cooling fans, separate on/off switches and plugs for timer control (3 Total), a highly polished reflector, a sleek, stylish aluminum housing, and an acrylic splash guard and lens.

That sounds like the one I have....The good thing is the led moon lights have 2 plugs, so I only use one set of 3....Believe me that is plenty of moonlight....

Hey guys ! I still didn't get the light yet. I am looking for a good deal on the Coralife 72" PC Aqualight. I just found one, but on the site it was saying that - NOTE: Do not put this light in a canopy. If you have a canopy you'll need a retrofit light. I am not sure what they mean. I'm thinking that the retrofit mounts on the inside of the canopy,on the top. But that would block the top covers for feeding time. I was going to get the 72" Power Compact Aqualight, and lay it on top of the tank. Will that be ok-? Thanks

Aqualights produce heat and should not be placed inside canopies that are not well ventilated. If cool air does not flow through the canopy, or the canopy is against a wall or completely enclosed, a fan must be installed in the canopy to move cool air through the canopy while the Aqualight is in operation. Failure to install a fan under these conditions can result in unit failure.
You can use this light in a canopy if you have proper ventilation. That comment above is from the information section on the light

LOL...right now I only have fish in my 225...I was nieve, and listened to the wrong people when I bought my pc's...soooo most of what I put in the tank that wasn't a fish slowly died from lack of light...I lost 2 heads of a beautiful 4 headed frogspawn. I had to move it back into another tank to save it. I want to add corals and such, and that is why the MH purchase.....I did not know about this site whan I purchased the pc.
