Looks like star polyps to me (can't see them really well, on my small lap top comp) compare it to this threads pix ( https://forums.saltwaterfish.com/forum/thread/258600/star-polyps) , to see.
And if it is Star Polyps, its a weed coral, so you don't have to do much but maintain levels and it will grow like crazy.

Thanks, i'm sure they are some type of star polyps but the carpet is not of purple nature it is more of a brownish tan color.
Thanks, so far i'm loving it here

Thanks good looking out you guys were right, i did a little google search. Hopefully they don't take over the tank like some hobbyists have had to deal with.

Try "training" them up the back wall of the tank. It has a really amazing effect when the back is covered!

That would be my experience with them, hence the reason I call it a weed!

Yeah it starts to go after everything else in the tank! lol He really does have a point if you can get it to stay on back its kinda cool to see!

The people I have heard and see do this personaly, have cut the mat and glued it to their back wall and let it grow from there. So peeling (which is very hard to get it all) off the unwanted direction to promote the right direction is by best guess on directing it. I could be wrong with the "training" part.

I'll definitely have to try it because it sits just next to one of the side glass walls of the hex and it would be totally awesome if i could do this....I'll keep you posted on my successes. if you notice on the bottom right of the picture that is where the mat of the green star polyps is.

Can I get you to entertain an offer on a more complete view of the whole tank? Ok, so I just want to see more pictures!
