Hey Guys ! HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
Its been a while, I've been busy with work.Hope all is well !
About my tank, its been running since Sept.2007, its a 6ft 175 gallon with a 25 gallon Wet/Dry Sump with calpera, skimmer,UV,two heaters, and a fluidized bed.The tank has about 185lbs of live rock. I change about 20 gallons of water a month.I have my eyes set on 3 fish, which will complete my stock list. I need any help if possible. My current stock list in order are:
1 - 4in Blue Hippo
2- 3 in Yellow Tangs
1- 3in Purple Tang
1- 3in Morrish Idol
1- 3in Longnose Butterfly
1- 6in Black Dogface Puffer
Everyone are doing great.Colors are superb, and everyone is fat and healthy! They're eating Sprulina Brine Shrimp,Mysis Shrimp,Blood Worms,Formula 1 @ 2, Krill and Silversides. All soaked in Vitamins and Garlic.I also treat them to lettuce and broccoli twice a week. The fattest one of all is the Morrish Idol,he eats everything, his favorite is broccoli.
So for the final three fish. I want to get a small Volitian Lion, maybe next week if possible. And then in a few months, I'll add a Queen and Emperor together. So thats it. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated !
Thanks !

Tank looks awesome

Love your current stocklist

Congrats on the Moorish Idol, great to see one doing so well
How long has he been in? Black puffer is very cool too.
Just an opinion, but adding 3 more (eventually) very large fish might be pushing it. I have never had a lion because I prefer Triggers, but my understanding is puffers and big angels can also pick on them.
Again, tank looks fantastic

+1!
I absolutely adore Moorish Idols. Probably the prettiest fish in the sea.
I know that their diet in the wild is made up largely of sponge. There's a guy on -- that has kept one for quite a while and who suggests feeding often with foods that have sponge in it... Just as a helpful tip, although I'm sure you did your research anyway

Anyway, I agree that adding three more fish is pushing it. I'd probably only add one more, and I'd make it the Emporer Angelfish. I've also heard that Triggers and Tangs may pick on a Lionfish, but then again, you see plenty of similarly stocked tanks that prove otherwise...
More pics of the fish please!!

Thanks for the reply. I have the Idol for about 3 months. He's my favorite ! The puffer is very friendly. I really want those three fish, I was hoping it would work. I'm hoping I get some more replies so I know what to do. But thanks again, kjr_trig !

Thanks for reply Kanicky !
The Idol loves Spectrum and
Broccoli. I want to get some different foods for him, I'll go check my LFS today. Yea,maybe I'll just go with the Emperor.
Now I'm wishing I had bought a bigger tank, LOL. Or maybe get rid of a fish-? So definitely no Lion, right -? I would take some more pics, but the site is only allowing me to upload five.

I like the idea of a queen for all of the different colors.

I'd say you've got about as many fish in there as you're gonna get.
If that Idol is thriving, I wouldn't add a thing. Anything else you add can throw off the balance, and the Idols are hard enough to keep alive as it is. When those fish mature, you'll need to find new homes for some.
The tank looks good, and I'm jealous you've had had that Idol for 3 months. Most don't even make it that long. But, speaking from plenty of experience, adding more fish may ruin the success you've had thus far.

Hey regina13 ! I love the Queen, but I heard that they are getting rare and hard to find. Hey Whitey ! I might just stay with the current list. I thought I really had more room for some more fishes.

Hey guys ! My Idol didn't make it.
He got Popeye the other day, and die this morning. He was my favorite, especially since I know they are hard to keep, and I had him for several months. But I will do myself a favor and not purchase another one, so I know I will be saving a fish life.

Thanks Spyker ! Yea, no more Idols for me. I'm not sure about seahorses, I heard they are hard to get them to eat. The puffer is awesome, he always greets me when I come to the tank. I haven't gotten any Angels yet. I am in the thinking process, and trust me, its hard.

Sorry the moorish died! He was a very nice looking fish.

Are you going to get another fish now?

GTD - with the loss of the Moorish Idol, I would say go for getting the two angels and skip the lion. If you must have a lionfish, get a dwarf.

Hey ccampbel ! Well, I got a steal of a deal today. One of my customers tank had a leak in it,and he had to get rid of the fishes. So he gave me a Chervon and a Powder Blue Tang, a Pink Tail trigger,a small Annularis angel and the two I have been waiting on for a long time, a Queen and a Emperor. They are absolutely beautiful.Just stunning. I got all of them for $ 130 bucks. But I did give away the tangs and the trigger, I have no room for them. I kept the Angels, and they are in a QT for now. Eating and doing well. I don't want the Annularis angel, so I might give it away, or maybe list it online. Also I have no room for him anyway. I am keeping the Queen and Emperor, for the price I can't give them up. I will take some pics when I'm free. I'll get back to you guys soon !!

Hey Camp ! The Annularis is about an inch and a half. His tail is a little beaten up.I'm at work right now,so when I get home I'll check on him,and we can work something out. Hey, do you think I can add that Seahorse, SWF.com have on sale to my tank-?
Yea Nano, that Idol didn't last. But I won't buy another one, so I will feel better saving a fish life.

Bad advice, spyker. Seahorses don't belong in a tank with a stocklist like that. They don't require high flow, can't be kept with corals, and certainly can't be kept with aggressive fish. Some don't even recommend keeping clownfish with them, although it really depends on how you feed (directly or with a trough.) Seahorses belong in a species-only tank, but some people add a goby or two for more "action."
Go check out the Seahorse & Pipefish Forum on this board if you're really interested in keeping them, and please, please don't add a seahorse to such a volatile mix.
