Hi, it's been a year since i upgraded my 16gal to 35 gal hex.
Finally, I got approval from the other half that I'm allowed to upgrade to something bigger.
I am kind of bound by the size - as I only have one perfect corner that separates my Dining and Living rooms - so I settled on 54 gallon corner bowfront.
The guy selling it has Fluval 405 - would that be enough for me?
I have Fluval 205 now but it would not be able to handle 54 gallon - right?
I do not want to spend a fortune drilling and installing sump pumps.
Also, who can advise how I can start the new tank and move my stuff from 35 gal hex and how to even move it?
I am not looking to buy corals or anything exotic - will be fish only tank.
Currently have 6 little fish in mine, sand sifting star fish and clean up crew
thanks in advance

Congrats on the corner bow. I had one before my current 56 gal. Lois aka meowzer also runs one.
the 405 should be fine, you just need to keep up with maintance on it.
As far as setting it up. I would start with just dry ag sand. you can use a little from your current tank to seed it.
With rock, they can be a little tricky to scape, but you can use dry marco rock and build a nice structure then add your live rock from your current tank to seed. If you can set it up without breaking down your current tank, I would let it cycle a few weeks. With using rock and sand from your current tank, you should not get much of a cycle.
What fish do you have now??
Lighting ?? The corners can be a bit hard to find a fixture to fit them, I built a canopy for mine and added lighting to it.

Hi guys, I just picked up the 54 gallone corner tank - it looks sooo huge comparing to my 35 gallone one (I know it's cute to most pros here with their 200 tanks, but I like it). Picked it up from a guy who has 13 tanks and breeds ciclids.
He gave me 300W (?) heater, Coralite lites with two dual bulbs (but both daylight) - i think I need to buy a nightlight.
AND he gave me Fluval 405.
Going to cover the background and then add water tomorrow - buy some rocks and start the process.
Will add some media from my Fluval 205 to this 405 and then add my sand and my rocks.
Will buy new rocks as well.
I will post the pics of my current one in a bit.
Current fish I have is
Clownfish
Royal Gramma
Yellow dots puffer (from walmart) - so not sure the name
Cleaner wrasse (wiith blue stripes)
2 Cardinals with red eyes
Curious what nice fish I can add to it to the 54 gallon tank now

Also, I have 1 small powerhead (180 I think) which I will put next (to the side) of Fluval output. On the other side I want to buy and put a powerful powerhead.
Can you please advise what I need for 54 gallon
thank you
