Well, guess what just happened...you know that piece that holds your 55 gallon together? The glass piece that's siliconed on, ya it just broke off!!!
What should I do? I have the canopy on right now with the actinics on so I can see what's happening.

Well the glass just cracked (it's not broken yet). My dad is taking out water, where can I put my Corals, Inverts? Can I put them in the Fuge for now? My dad is going to go buy another 55 tomorrow...but where can I put the Corals?

if you have clean 5 gal buckets you can store them in there for the time being, or even beter if you can get a big rubbermaid tub that would do the job. You should have a about a day or two to get the new tank up, thats normally how long it takes to ship them if you buy them off the internet. Just remember that when you put your corals back into the tank that they are going to be stressed out so dont mess with them too much, once they become happy again you can re-aquascape them, just let them recover as much as possible

Do I have to let the tank cycle again? The Fish & Inverts are in a 5 gallon bucket with a filter and a piece of Live Rock. The Corals are in the refugium.

Yes, it will cycle again.
But the cycle should be much much faster since there is so much biological goodness going on. Once you get to your sandbed you will SMELL all of that wonderful goodness.
Said goodness will kick the cycle off, but also accelerate it. What initially took weeks or even months will now only take days, even hours to balance itself again.

Let your testing abilities tell you when everything is safe again.
Kudos on taking proper action. Too many times I see it and get sick of people trying spitwads and bubblegum solutions to frame breaks such as yours.
Pain in the tail and never happens at a good time, but to address it correctly is important.
Oh, and let me be the first to congratulate you on the new LARGER tank. We all know you will be using this as the perfect excuse to jump to a 75g.

i had the same thing happen on my 225 the mh bulb snapped the glass support.
i still have a long clamp holding it together ,its 6 foot tall with no canopy though.
i tried to silicone a piece back but it didnt hold.
luckily the clamp it so high you really dont notice it.
i would use half of the old water so the stock has water it is used to.
good luck

I would also suggest checking the new tank to make sure it is completely level. Often the tanks tilt just a bit away from the wall and that puts more pressure on the front glass causing bowing.
