Hello,
Just got these corals and need some help to id.
The first one is a Red Brain, but if you look at the picture there is a green sponge thing on the base rock. Not sure what it is
The 2nd picture I have no clue. The id at the LFS was not correct. When it was in the LFS tank, it stood 6 to 7 inches tall off the base rock and had a long white stem. The top had a bunch of white tenticles coming out. Now (parden me) but it just looks like a scrotum sack in my tank. It went down when it was put in the bag.
Please help if you can....Thanks

I think the date on your cam might be just a bit off.

Yup, the first ones looks like a sponge. The coral in the second pit is called a toadstool leather.

oh boy. well I read before, the the sponge should not be in contact with air. I Kinda took it out of the bag from out side the tank to place it.
Is this real bad.
What about growth. WIll it grow over the brain or become a problem? How big do they get?
Sorry for all the questions.

i see you are on LI. I just got home from Pets Warehouse in Copaigue on Sunrise Hwy. First time there. What a great place. It is very dirty as a whole, but the tanks are clean. They must have over 50 tanks of fish, corals, and inverts. They prices are so good. I got 2 brains and the toadstool for under $100.
They have one tank with a variety of corals, and everything in the tank is $35.00
This is my new place.
I told the guy that the prices were good, and he said he knows. Many local pet stores by from him to re-sell.

In that case I think it may have a chance. If it dies it's not a great loss.
If I may ask, for what reason do you dose phyto? Most corals cannot even eat it.
