I am going to be starting two 180g tanks in the very near future. I already have the tanks and was wondering if anybody out there knows how to cut holes in the bottom of the tanks for my plumbing? The tanks are both going in my wall and I want to keep all the plumbing hidden. The tanks will be able to be viewed from the front and back and the sides will be inaccessable. This is why I need to cut or drill the wholes if it's possible. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I use a carbide hole saw for granite and marble to cut my bulk head holes. These are available at lowes, home depot, or any tile or granite supplier.
Make sure that the class you are cutting is not tempered.
Use plenty of water on the bit while you are cutting for lubrication and keeping the cut clear of glass debris.

Research carefully! the bottom of almost all tanks are tempered glass, and attempting to drill them will result in them shattering! If your not sure, ask a local glass shop to check it out for you ~ you really don't want to shatter that 180!

If the glass IS NOT temperd then get a hole saw bit for GLASS.There is a good video on youtube showing you how it is done.
