need help with cycle

well i started my cycle 2 and a half weeks ago, and i know i still have a few more weeks to go, but has anyone ever experienced their nitrates the first to be zero? my ammonia is starting to go down, my nitrites are still through the roof, and my nitrates were sitting at 20 ppm, but now they've dropped to near zero. i'm not complaining or anything, just wanted to make sure this was normal.

Sounds ok but it would help if you post levels. Your through the roof and mine might be different.

okay i just finished testing. they are as follows:
Ammonia: 0.2
Nitrite: 5.0 ppm (highest on my chart)
Nitrate: 10 ppm
PH: 8.1

10 Gal, salinity is sitting between 1.021 and 1.022. and i have about 7 pounds of live rock, slowly adding more till i have 10 pounds.

Take the sal up to 1.024-1.025. I would add the rest of your rock now cause it can start a new cycle on you when you add it. What are you putting in?

Just add them 1 at a time when your levels are down. With a smaller tank you can upset your water qualitity very easy. Should be a nice house for 2, maybe 3 will be a bit much when they hit adulthood.
