All the Saddleback I have ever seen only have the two stripes.
Looks to me like a pair of Mauritians. Were they wild caught?

I'm not sure if they are wild or tank raised. The store where I bought them didn't no.. I only paid $40 for the pair. The LFS had them listed as clarkies.

I agree, they do look like Mauritians. I have seen Saddlebacks with three stripes, or at least what people told me were saddlebacks, and the third stripe extended kind of like these guys do. Maybe they were just mis-identified.

If they are Mauritians then that's a great catch. Not seen often in the hobby and I've never known anyone to have a pair (why I asked if they were wild).

No. Took a little bit, but I believe your original ID of Allardi's is correct. The black-fading-to-yellow pectorals, means the fish is still in, just partially in this case, it's juvenile coloration, which I have only seen in Allardi's. The fish are about 1.5"? Slightly under 2" or so?
The way second white stripe only wisps slightly onto the dorsal fin, and the near perfect sickle-shape white outline on the caudal, also tell of Allardi.

Shape of the head doesn't look right to me for Allardi. But the wide on top and pointed on the bottom of the first stripe shows in favor of Allardi.
Should know for sure in a few months.

Ok thanks, The only difference i discovered is that the larger one has a solid yellow dorsal fin where as you can see in the picture the smaller one has some black in it. The small fish is about 1.5 inches and the larger one is about 2 maybe a hair bigger. i will try and post some more pictures tonight when i get home from work.
