alrighty i have some ideas but don't know what all will work. i would like to keep all these type of fish but don't know what worx. first of all i would love to get a clown trigger. that and the achilles tang are prolly my most fave fish. so guys make something work for me.
fish that i like
naso tang
sailfin tang
blue hippo tang
gold rim or achilles tang
school of Heniochus Butterfly
maybe a butterfly or two
banded shark
blue ribbon eel
clown trigger
emp angel - red sea (i know can't go with shark)
those are what i like so let me know.
i am open to other suggestions.
the tank is 6x2x2
and once i get a couple of fish in there i will upgrading to a 75g sump.
right now i have about 100lbs of live rock in there and will be getting about another 100-175lbs. i will have tons of filtration for a fowlr. so let me know your ideas.
also let me know order for i am looking into buying my first fish here in the next day or two.

The clown trigger will definately limit your choices they can get quite nasty and make any tank a species only tank allthough some do fine with others its a at your own risk type thing. Then there is the third situation were you have a peacefull clown that shy and goes quite well for a long period and then you find out he is physco and kills everyone in your tank.Blue ribbon eels are hard to keep and there survival rate isnt that great unless you have a well established tank and are experienced. No SHARKS with TRIGGERS sharks are awsome inhabitants but the tank must be geared towards them starting with the substrate and swimming space, this will also limit inhabitants and you need awell set up tank as well for them and the experiance to back your self up.How long has this tank been set up?What experiance do you have in the hooby? What filtration?Protein skimmer?

First thing, a 6x2x2 is a 180GL tank. I hate to say it, but the entire list you mentioned most fish get too big. Cancel the shark, the tank is wayyy too small, and not compatible with most of your wish list. Blue-ribbon is a no go; unless you plan on keeping your tank lightly stocked, and a profuse amount of live food in the tank. Damsels, shrimp etc. You've got no room for a "school" of bannerfish; you'd need a much much larger system. The Clown Trigger as an adult would be cramped in a 180, let alone the territory issues that would be there. The Emp in my opinion would be good for some time, after the tank has been running smoothly for 6-12 months. Eventually, as well a 180 would be tight. Scratch the achilles, unless your willing to do what it takes to take care of this fish. Any 6' tank will have this fish paceing end to end, and no to mention there suseptable to disease easily. Naso's get huge! That'd be your choice to get one or not. A 300GL would be a much nicer home for an adult, but would do alright in a 180 for a handful of years. If I had your tank personally, and went by your list I'd go with 2 fish....Clown Trigger, and a larger Emp. Keeping in mind, the tank will eventually have to up-graded. I'd reccomend waiting to purchase any fish, and research, ask questions etc. before ending up with a group of fish that fit and get along while they're tiny; only to cause problems when they're much larger. A sweet set-up would be: Harlequin Tuskfish, Purple Tang, Blue-Jaw triggerfish, and either the majestic or regal angel based on their smaller stature.

actually forgive me on the measurements its 29" tall. thanx for the suggestions of fish but those are just not my cup of tea.
also i have about a 2 1/2 to 3 in sandbed mixture of crushed agronite and sand. pretty fine substrate. the tank has been recently set up of a combination of two tanks. i took a 55g and a 75g and combined them into the 210g. those tanks had been up for over a year. nice growth on most of the rocks and lots of little creatures. like i said i will use the 75 as a sump here pretty soon along with a bigger skimmer.
thanx and keep it coming

I would think you should think about how bad you want a shark, and also remember your tank size may not be deep enough to keep one. If you tell me you are going to keep the shark as a must have I will give you a good list of what you can keep. If you X the shark you will be able to keep more of the fish you want.

I personally wouldn't put a shark in anything less than 8' long and 3' wide tank. I've a 210 as well, and wouldn't consider half your dream listed, based on hardiness, territorial issues, and space...The bioload will be high, so top-notch filtration will be needed, and a 1" sand-bed would be better for your FO tank in the long-run. It'll definately harbour less waste, good luck.

going to nix the shark, going to go more peaceful of a tank. i picked up a kole tang, and a yellow belly blue hippo. both are about 3in. and the kole cost $30, yellow belly $50. they have a juvi emp angel thats about 4in there. if its still there next week i am going to have them hold it for another week for me. after that then its back to deciding.
i will be keeping the sandbed at 1.5-2 in deep. thanx for the suggestion on that. filtration will be a 75 gallon wet dry sump so i think the filtration will be great not to mention the 250lbs or live rock as well.
i will be posting pics here pretty soon. love the yellow belly hes pretty sweet.
thanx

Don't let anyone talk you out of what you want. Simply keep in mind extra maintenance if you over stock, possible loss of fish, due to aggression and the potential size of each fish. Clowns are great to have and there are plenty on e bay. Happy hunting.

With 250LBS of LR, you'll want to have some serious flow, or condense the amount of LR. With FOWLR systems it's easy for un-eaten food to settle in crevices, harbour nitrates, and bloom nasty algaes. Profuse LR works better in reefs, rather than pred tanks.

i have my magdrive 24 w/ 3 powerheads going right now. pretty good flow might drop one down behind the rocks and hit from behind and up as well. all of my powerheads are the penguins any suggestions on something else?? going to be buying a couple more for this tank and my others so looking around at the moment. reason for all the rock besides filtration is actually more of i like aquascaping. i like the rocks almost as much as the fish. well not quite but i am sure you get the point. so anyways any suggestions on the powerheads would be great.
thanx

Maxi-Jets, seio, Tunze nanostreams to name a few. I'd avoid rio; I've heard too many stories of them frying tanks.

hey titan? well the blue hippo got taken back today for it wasn't fairing to well. didn't adjust and didn't want to take any chances with it dieing. so the clown and emp how big would be advised for them to be. there is an awesome juvi emp about 4in and a clown juvi/changing about 2in. would they be combatible? i will prolly keep a nice size naso and something else for awhile till everything gets too big. which by then i will be getting my "big tank" looking to build a 1000 gallon guy. so anyways would these guys work or is one too big/small.
anyone else have success as well let me know.
thanx
