I love my new filter...going from a hob filter to a canister is great especially since the filter pumps 264 gallons an hour and my tank is only 26 gals...and o yea it was free...Thanks Sean.
...what i need help with is the noise...why is it sooooooooooooo loud? i sounds alomst like a slight vibration magnified by 10...i was able to dampen the sound slightly by putting towels over it but is there anything else i can do...its sorta still a little loud for me...especially when my bed is 2 ft from my tank!
...Thanks...

on my ehiem canister, if the water isnt filled up ALL the way to the top it makes a really loud noise. Could that be the problem on yours?

Not familiar with your filter. But the impeller is similar to a small propeller with a magnetic shaft that spins when plugged in, creating water pressure.
It may have not been primed.

Another small tip is to unplug and plug the cord in qucikly a few times to see if it seats properly!

When you look at the canister, is it full of water. When i clean mine, i keep the out side closed until it is completly full of water, then slowly start opening the out side. mine has shut off valves in the hoses.
