i am not sure where to put the bottom at? i mean i am not sure what even is the bottom. where should i place it and how should i place it?

if you havea power head I would just place it around that and it will move itself, i think. that is what my anemne does.

Actually, you don't want to put it around the powerhead, nothing in too strong of current because it will get blown around, and the tubes will get ripped and the feathers won't come out. Other then that, you can put it where you see it will make the best impact in terms of looks.
