I had to move him, he was not attached to a rock and got caught in the filter, he is now almost inside out looking and hasn't been out all day.His tenicles are out alittle, limp though. I have been feeding it the liquid anenome , it's called coralife, invertabrate gourmet gumbo.
i don't know if it will or can eat the other stuff i got today. it looks like it's dying, and i know i can't help. I'm not getting anemone again till i get better lighting and know more about their behavior. I'm not taking him out yet, he may just need rest.
I'm sorry i haven't read more post before buying him.I have learned alot from reading them and getting re;yies.
thanks

Sorry to hear that...but don't waste any more of the liquid food. It just isn't doing anything for it. If anything try a small piece of shrimp (like one of those little salad shrimps) and put it on a tentacle. Hope for the best :) Anemones can look really bad and then perk up...but one hopes it is attached somewhere. Have to clarify that the "don't move it" comes when it has attached on its own.

How is your anemone today? If you haven't tried yet, I would still offer a tiny bit of raw fish, clam, shrimp. I know these species aren't identical, but I have a tube anemone that has left its tube twice and this morning, it looked like it was trying to back out of the new tube it built (secreted). But it was ok when I got home from work.
My bta will expand and contract; blow up with water (I assume), shrink down to a mere nothing with tiny, skinny tentacles...it will stay in a place for a day or a week, the move again...since yesterday, it has been all over the tank. I've been moving the other corals out of the way.
Your tank might be polluted with the liquid food...I would do a water change, let the anemone rest, then offer a bite of food.
I don't know much about the anemone you have...does it need a clown or not?

Thank you all for your help, but, he died. I know what i done wrong though. I moved him to much so i probably hurt him to the point of no return. he was really stuck to the feather duster, and then when i pulled him off the filter, so he was a learning experience, I got one in yesterday and i kept looking in the tank telling him ( i'm not touching you!!) and he is doing wonderful, hasn't went in since i jput him in and he has made a home on a rock, the clown hasn't hosted with him yet, but i'm hoping.
thnks
