All the fish were small for the species, but yes I had several fish but thought my tank was plenty large enough but I have no plans on adding any new fish for a while my wallet is still screaming after the last order which nothing is alive except brittle star. but my triggers are realtively small and panther is only about 4"

Hey thanks tag, I dont have a hospital tank but maybe should set one up. the lion never was doing good never saw hime eat, and he never adapted to the tank. he was very small. Yes I agree with the undulate he is doing much better but if any other fish gets near his hole in the live rock he chases them off. I kind of want to get rid of him you intrested let me know just pay shipping. Did water change yesterday going to keep an eye on nitrate level. but you don't think I need another filter or more live rock?

:D They are a fairly good shipper, but the cost to send one fish by FedEx from Calif to Minn would be way too much. Plus you would need to heat pack, have pure oxygen in the bag.
When I was transhipping fish, my cost on those was around $4 because not much demand for them. Well I had to pay shipping too, but LAX to MSP by Northwest Air was about $55 per 100 pounds. (minimum rate). 100 lbs of fish is alot.

I should have said:
"Thanks for the offer too"
But if you sent me a round trip ticket to Calif. I could pick it up.

I hear you my friend wallet a little bare myself mainly due to the dead sea, my nicname for my tank. But hopefully with your advise its on the road to recovery:happyfish

Ok this is the deal 1st 1" of fish 3 gal of water. Next understanding the cycle 1st amonnia this is from fish watse or death, next is nitrites you can detoxify this by using a product called Prime but it will go away on its own when it, 3rd coverts into nitrates if you put some live macros in there they will consume the nitrates as it is a natual fertilizer. circulation of the water will help also you are changing way to much water and in will never complete a cycle if you keep changing 30% ea. week.

So we could put a 3 inch Koran in a 90 with a 3 inch Blue Anglefish?
See how you cannot have a inch per whatever rule...there is no rule...

first off i don't mean that you could put a 25 inch fish in a tank that is 75 gal. general rule of thumb is 1" of fish per 3 gal this will help with you amonnia issue and not depleeting O2 that will cuase the break down in water quality. too many people try to over anylyze the issues here. I have been doing this for about 25 years and have watched opinnions come and go and the same basics have proven to be successful over and over. I have bred in the home aquarium long before it was thought possible and keep several very successful tanks. never over analyze take what you can and try what you want good luck.
PS watch what you mix with ea. other.
