Need help

I'm a newbie needing help.
I just bought my tank today. Filled it with sand first and then added water then added the salt. The hydro meter is reading wayyy too high.
Should I take out all the water out and start over or wait a while and take a reading again?

i had the same problem I started my first tank last week and added a bag that says it is for 50 gallons of water. My readings where off the chart. I took about 15 gallons out of my 55 gallon and added fresh water. The readings are perfect now.

In the future mix the saltwater in another container and test before adding to the tank.
Much easier to adjust the SG and it won't mess with the tanks chemistry.
