Boss added a reef tank to the restaurant. Thought it would be awesome. Tank at work tank at home. It being a business and a marketing tool the fish were not qt'ed at all. Showed up and they were dumped in after a 3 week cycling of the tank.
Everything caught ich and all died, but the 3 tangs. A hippo, scopas and a yellow tang. Used Greenx and did water changes afterwards, but since it isn't going to be allowed to shut it down for a few weeks......what to do? Take the corals out, put them in my personal qt tank and then hypo the tank?
Any help would be appreciated.

If you have QT I would do the Hypo for the fish in that tank and leave display tank void of all fish for 6 weeks. Good Luck

Makes sense thanks!
I was freaking out and didn't think to clearly. Trying to get it all staightened out, keep the boss happy and keep fish alive.
Keep up the suggestions. Gonna qt the fish and keep the skimmer and sterilizer cranking out on the tank for 3 or 4 weeks.

I wouldn't return the fish to the DT no less than 6 weeks. Ick is a nasty bugger. If one survives you'll start all over again, I know from experience. My last ick attack I waited 7 weeks and knock on wood they are all still ick free.

Don't add to the problem, or make the problem yours by adding anything to your tank. the infected fish obviously need to be treated, and that can not happen in the reef tank. As we discussed in PM, start doing water changes in the tank with the greenx. This medication should not have been added to a reef tank.
What is the size of this tank? And are the tangs showing symptoms of ich?
If you QT the fish, the tank will clear of ich within a month. Obviously, the problem can and will repeat if future fish are not QTed first.

Only the yellow showed signs. Display tank is 180gal.
I am planning when I leave work to put them in my qt at the house def not my display. Water changes are being made. Not entire amount of greenx added as recomended on the label. All inverts and coral are fine, but still keeping up with the water changes. Tangs are breathing nicely. No signs at the moment, but I know they'll show back up soon.
LFS guys have always been great and will hold the fish you buy until they have gone through 2 weeks qt and suggested the greenx. The fish in this tank however were purchased off of the internet and put in.
Thanks and please keep walking me through this. It's hard dealing when I am limited on help on something that isn't mine, but am treating as such.
