i agree, i woudlnt waste your time fedding it. before you know it, it will be so big you will want to frag it.
if you feel its necessary to feed, i reccomend- marine snow, phyto plankton, you could make your own. there is alot out there to feed. you have to go to your lfs and see what they have and reccomend.

ive noticed i get the best growth rate out of regular water changes. i was feeding all my corals and slacked on water changes to around once a month.. then i stopped feeding the corals weekly and started doing weekly water changes and im getting great growth out of my lps corals and other corals as well!
so IMO reg water changes and good lights is the best food for your hammer! but i do still shoot a little meaty food on it once in a while.

yeah, i as well will just from time to time drop a cube of phyto in fron of the powerhead.
i would get a bottle of trace elements and dose that about 2x a week to keep up your trace elements. not sure if it works for all tanks but 2x a week works for my tank.
