Hey I came home this afternoon and all the coral in my tank was closed...not really sure what happened. I think maybe there was something in RO i used to tap it off with this morning...unsure... I quickly fill a 5 gallon water change. and tested my levels...
only one really off where Ph of 7.8 and my CA+ was at like 440 or something... can't remember what number excatly... i know it was 23 drops in the AI test...
There is not much progress in my tank as of now bout 6 hours later... my sebae is still closed up my gsp are away for the night as well as the mushrooms and xenia and sps... my white bubble does not have any tentacles out tonight either..everything looks stressed to say the least.... ideas ? should I do another water change in the morning ? or do one now..

What did you test and what are the numbers.
Make a time line of all the “I did this”

I really don't know then...prepare a w/c just in caes so it's ready...if they look ok tomorrow then save the water for next time.....just keep it aerated

Look for something that has died. Snails by smelling. I would do a water change but test the new water for ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates before mixing.

This is Tests listed in order of importance IMO
0 Ammonia For the health of animals
0 Nitrite For the health of animals
73-80 Temp For the health of animals
1.023-1.026 Specific Gravity For the health of animals
8-10 Alkalinity (dkH) For good coral growth
420-500 Calcium For good coral growth
8-8.4 pH For the health of animals
0 Nitrate To prevent nuisance algae growth
0 Phosphate To prevent nuisance algae growth
0 Silicate To prevent nuisance algae growth
1250-1350 Magnesium Test if Calcium will not rise
.05 Iodide For good coral growth
Did you “mix till completely dissolved”?

All snails looked dead this morning...they where all off the glass and lying upside in the sand bed... they still react to stimuli but for fear of death fast apporching I removed all of them... I will have to go to the LFS to get more later today.
0 Ammonia = 0 -.025
0 Nitrite = 0
73-80 Temp = 79-80
1.023-1.026 Specific Gravity =1.025
8-10 Alkalinity (dkH)=11
420-500 Calcium =440
8-8.4 pH last night 7.8 this morning after another change 8 or so I have another batch being made...I belive this is the problem... somethign changed in my water somewhere because my normal lvls from my H2o soucre are normally 8.2-8.3 for somereason they are now low... I added buffer to the water this morning to raise it and will do the same with the next batch.. How long should I wait between water changes ?
0 Nitrate =10
0 Phosphate I do not have a test
0 Silicate I do not have a test for test
1250-1350 Magnesium I do not have a test
.05 Iodide I do not have a test

Personally I would never mix anything into the tank directly
I believe someone told me once to add buffers with your top off.....

IDK...Maybe just leave it for 24 hours, and then retest...I also don't think I would go get anymore snails today either
