Need Homework Help - Lobster Riddle

OK, there is this riddle i have to figure out for Honors Oceanography. I don't get it.
Here's a riddle: A friend of mine had three lobsters in the bait tank on his boat. He went out to grab a lobster for dinner and found that he now had four lobsters. What had happened?
Help?

One of them MOLTED?

I had this happen yesterday with an emerald crab. Its in my 10 gal, looked thought it had died, took it out threw it away, go back to look at the tank, and there was my crab. s stated above, molt
