Need ID on this

The purple thing came on a peice of rock from LFS. Thought it was algea at first, but then it got all fuzzy like. So I think it might be a coral of some sort. The second pic is of some white stuff growing on a rock I've had for like 6 months. Never noticed it before. Anyone know what either might be?

Thanks. Stuff has really taken off recently. First time I noticed it, about a month ago, it was just two little puffs on the rock. Today I looked at it and wow! Thanks again.

I'll have to look up sponges, don't know anything about them.
