I have read here that some people have painted the backs of their tanks. What type of paint can you use and does it leach thru the glass and kill your livestock? I have some rustoleum royal blue oil based is that ok? Please help before I paint!! thanks.
hey arkey thanks for the reply, have they been set up long without any problems, I just don't want to do this and have it leach and kill everything. Thanks.
Well, I used to own a Pet Store years back where we were in business for 10 years and I painted about 40- 10gal aquariums and never had any problems.....
So you think I'll be ok with painting it then. I sthere any other good ideas to put on the back other than paint so I don't have to look thru the tank at all the lines and stuff. Thanks agian for the replies>
what i do is go to wal* mart and pick out a piece of fabric and get some really good 2 sided tape put the tape around the outside edges and stick the fabric on the back of the tank. after a year or so i'll change the fabric just to give it a new look. been doing that for years
hope that helps

That's a cool idea! That way you can change it when you want to....
Thanks wax, I have 8X65w Current Sunpaq dual retros for a total of 520w on my 120, have yet to set up, waiting on refugium/sump to be built. Hopefully next week. thanks for reply.
Oh my gosh! that's such a cool idea (fabric on the back). I thought I was the aqua innovator of the year when I spray painted aluminium foil all kinds of crazy colors, and wrikled it up for a 3-D effect. But I like the fabric idea a lot better. Maybe the wife won't get so mad at me this time because I'm using fabric!:happyfish
