i am going to have a 29 gallon reef....which is better to have in it for live rock...
40lbs of Caribbean Live Rock for $100 plus shipping(the site mentions that is ancient lettuce heads)
30lbs of Lalo Live Rock for $110 plus shipping (the site said this is the top pick for live rock)
i would order from this site but they are too expensive for what i need....i dont know what to do...the only drawback to both rocks is that they are UNcured...and i would love to have a cured rock...but dont really know where to find on this VERY limited budget...thanks for any help!

Have done research on these rocks? They are both totally different. One is very porus, lightweight. The other is aquacultured and very heavy. Also, when you calculate where to buy, be sure you look at shipping cost. Shipping for rock can be significant.

I would think that the lettuce heads would be lighter because they are very porous but i could be wrong...:notsure:

If you decide on that lettuce head stuff, I know where you can get some with free shipping. I think they sell 25lbs, 50lbs and 100lbs boxes.

I prefer the light weight of the carribean. It depends on what you want. The lalo is a nice rock as well. So it really depends on what you like.

In the past I have, and the rock was just beautiful. I was very satisfied with their rock. It has very nice color and will provide plenty of hiding places for your fish. I just added a 25lbs box to add some diversity to my tank and my gobies just loved perching on them. Just be sure to cure it for a little while because you will have a small amount of die off and will have the chance to rid the rocks of any unwanted crabs.

Im thinking 25lbs of this rock would be good. Then fill it up with a different rock this way youll have different textures in your tank. These lettuce heads are a little big ranging from the size of your hand and bigger. Thats the only downside to this lr. The size will take up space in your tank. but it does lookk nice and will not displace so much water.
