I understand that your LFS does not take returns. However neither does mine BUT they will babysit my fish. Have you asked for them to just hold your fish till you get over your up coming cycle? Did you tell them these fish was for a BRAND NEW TANK be honest here.
Sometimes it is easy to blame our LFS and alot of times they deserve it. We also are to blame too when we don't speak up and somthing goes wrong. I know I am guilty myself.
Do you have a friend that has a tank that you could let baby sit.
Can you ask your local fish store to give you/buy 20 gal of water from their season tanks so you could set up a QT tank till your cycle is over.

Well, I bought my test kit, fish, 1 small live rocks, crushed coral and filter and first fish net and water changing hose thing from them and asking questions like hey I put the watger in yesterday and added bizyme when can I addd fish and the answer was TODAY !!! Yeah ***** your the best ....
I am new to this army post and know no one. The closest fish store is over 50 miles away one way. I come from south florida and have a jeep sahara with no heater its 12 degrees out I dont think they would make it to the store to be honest... Plus ***** I dont think would do it. the next one is in spriongfield missouri 90 miles away one way and their store looked like a sewer. thhe next one I would trust andd they would do it is in saint louis but its 2 hours away and even if I used my wifes new car it would cost me more in gas than I paid for the fish... I have 20 bucks in fish. I want them to live and they are doing fine eating lovving life so it seems.

ok maybe the only thing you can do and I don't no is this will work but worth a try.
Get you some DETOX by Kent Marine it nutralizes ammonia so test daily and then add the detox if you see ANY rise. I don't know if this will work but maybe better than nothing.
