Ok, well my problem is a strange one. I have this MH setup from Energy Savers Unlimited, which also does Coralife however this is not listed as a Coralife system.
Ill just give you guys a blow by blow of everything that I know so far:
First I get the system home and try it out in my living room. One lamp worked but the other didnt so I put a different bulb into it and it works fine. I get them hung over my tank and what happens this time is they both turn on for about 45 seconds to a minute then go off, so I let them sit off for about 10 min and try them again and they both work and run the rest of the day(about 5 hours).
skip to this morning
I go to turn them on and once again they both turn on for about 45 seconds then turn off, I leave them on however and walk away, after about 10 minutes or so one of them flips on and stays on and that is the one that doesnt give me trouble because it always does that (On, 45 secs later it goes off, then about 10 min later comes on and stays on). The other one just stays off however. So I call the guy I got them from he says never did this for him, heh... Anyways I call ESU and they say I have the wrong type of bulbs that I have Pulse start bulbs and a Probe start ballast, ok but that doesnt explain why the other one works...
I then get into doing some experimenting this morning and I take the bad one downstairs. I try all 3 extra bulbs while everything is resting on the floor and 2 of the bulbs lightup and stay on while the third just lights up and dies. I try this again with the same results. So I bring it back up to my room and lay it on the floor and test it and it stays on, then I hang it over the tank and flip the switch and again it starts and dies! I then tried moving it to a different outlet in the room and still, it dies. Right now I am sitting downstairs with the bad system trying all the bulbs again so far they have all stayed on except for the bulb that was in it when I had it plugged in upstairs, which had worked when I had it downstairs...
