Need New Salt Mix! Seachem?

Anyone have feedback on Seachem Marine or Reef Salt?
I'm moving away from IO Reef Crystals 'cause of Alk probs.
I have Some Reef and am going that direction as far as i can with 4-65w PCs. (as soon as I get my ALK down and stable!)
btw I kalk drip.

I've heard SeaChem is no good for reef tanks because the borate is too high and SPS do not like high levels of borate. Any other salt will do fine though: I personally use the regular Red Sea (not the Coral Pro version) and I have been very happy with it. I like the fact that it is partially made from evaporated sea water while all the others are completely synthetic.

thats why i dont like red sea its evaporated its not only H2O that leaves during evaperation so do chemicals needed in a reef tank.

Make sure you scrutinize any saltmix "research" you see on the web if you decide to look at data. A lot of these reports are conducted by the manufacterers of the saltmix and they go to lengths to find bad batches of competitors to provide slanted data.

How high is your alkalinity? You should be able to bring it down pretty easily by adding some ionic calcium and/or stopping any alk supplements for a while. Also, I've never heard of high alk causing any real problems. I'd have thought high alk would just stabilize the pH more. Am I wrong about this?

This process of making evaporated saltwater only removes water: nothing else.

Exactly the action I took; and I believe it's good to have an alk level a little higher than NSW and it will make ph more stable; However I've heard to high can inhibit calcification of some corals(over 11 dKh). Don't know why just what I heard.
According to my test kit??? My Alk is embarrassingly high

since I'm going more reef-ward. I'm getting another kit to verify the results.

After looking into Seachem...
I've been thinking more about using Red Sea Coral Pro.
Why do you like the regular better than the Coral Pro?
