Hi everyone!!! I posted a few weeks ago about my tank cycling sooo fast. Well my water has been stable since the cycle has been over. PH 8.2 salinity 1.022 Amm 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 10 Is that to high?? My first two fish purchased were a pair of false perc about 2 weeks ago. I just purchased a small Foxface on fiday. My tank is a 55 gallon tank which has been up over 5 weeks. I cycled with 2 shrimp and a bacteria starter. The clowns and foxface are doing great, eating well especially the foxface..... He still is scared and turns brown on occasion. Anyway a friend of mine has a 80 gallon reef tank and he needs to get rid of a bicolor angel fish, because the fish is nipping his corals. Anyway he offered it to me for free. It is a beautiful fish about 3 inches long very thick and bright colors. My friend says he is well fed especially he has been eating coral. Anyway I want to take it but I KNOW Angels should not be placed in a tank as new as my set up. My friends tank although is very crowded has tons of Algae growth unlike mine!! What should I do?? I don't want to overload the Bio Filter and kill my clowns and foxface. The clowns are only 1 inch long and the fox face is a baby about 2 inches. Does any Angel expert have any info on this fish?? My friend says it doesn't bother his other fish just the coral. He says it should do fine in my tank as long as I feed it seaweed selects and formula 1. I'm not interested in ever getting coral. I only have 15lbs of LR and some dead rock an eheim filter, a power filter, skimmer, uv ster, and two maxi ph. I am buying a new 90G tank next year so I will have a home for a growing Foxface and this Angel. Sorry for the long post but if anybody can give me some info and opinion on this fish. I would like to take it for free but I also don't want to rush things and destroy my tank.
Thanks....

You are correct, Angel fish need a tank that is very stable, and mature. If you are set on getting this fish then what you will need to do is provide it with good veggie items, and check your water quality several times a week, and be prepared to do a water change on the minute to bring any bad water readings under control. BUT....if it is at all posible, i would see if your lfs could take the fish from your friend and hold it for you while your tank matures over the next few months. Other than that, I say good luck.

I would not add that fish to your tank. Your tank is way to new and you have added fish to quickly IMO. If you add this fish to your tank you risk killing everything in there because you bio filter is not up to speed yet.

Thanks for the advice, I don't think i'm going to take that fish. Maybe I'll ask my friend to keep the fish in his 30 g Q tank for 2 weeks. Anyway I won't take it this week for sure, especially that my foxface has slime coming off him?? what the hell is that?? He is swiming and eating like a horse but I just noticed the slime tonight. Any thought?? Thanks for the info
