Hey all, I have 3 salt tanks :happyfish that I want to combine into my one 90 gallon. The sizes are 20, 30 & a 55 gallon. All are about a year old. What is your opinion on the best way to do this with as little stress to all inhabitants? Everything in each of the tanks should be compatible, there are mostly corals, though about 3 anemones. I thought I would start it out with the sand/water from the 20 gallon, put those animals into the 55 so they won't be crowded. :notsure:

Why not use a couple of rubbermaid tubs. drain water into them, add fish. keep them there untill you can move all the sand and rock. then movewater and fish. i am moving a 55 gal tank in about 8 mo, so i am putting all water fish corals and liverock into tub.

I just moved my 55g from one side of the room to another... I did just what Teresa is saying and it worked great. After the tubs (used two big ones) was full enough I moved all the corals and fish into them... I also put in a powerhead and heater. This allowed me all the time I needed to move the tank.

Nope, no cycle at all. The rock had 0 die off. I left the bottom layer of rock in the tank so the sand wasn't disturbed that bad. Nothing changed chemically at all.
