Well I got everything I need to start plumbing my sump -the return pump. The problem I ran into is the bulk head to my overflow is 2'' dia. I went to home depot to get a fitting to plumb it to the sump. And did not find anything close to what I need. I dont want to use pvc I want to use clear hose like that to a washer. they have many differet sizes of hose. But no fittings that go from a 2'' male to a hose fitting ( you know the barb ). Dose anyone have any other places I can go to get it. Hope someone can help. The wife leaves with the baby at the end of the week to NC for a few days. I have the house to my self and my dog. So its my time to set it up. Without any interuptions. I will take pics to put on here for you all have big a huge help.

Not all HD sell the same stuff. You might want to check another one in your area and see if you get lucky there. I went with PVC when i plumbed my sump partly because of the cost. Some of that hose your looking for can be a few dollars a foot. But i guess once you invest a couple grand in a set up whats a couple of dollars more. Good luck.

thanks I will. And around here what I was looking at the most expencive was about 1.25 for 2'' a foot give or take. I just want to be able to see in my plumbilg for 2 reasons 1 You can see if something got in there like a snail pluging it up. 2. Dont have 90 degree angles blocking some flow. It should flow smooth for the most part.

A two inch bulkhead seems huge to me. What size tank is it? What size pump are you running. Is it a two inch bulkhead or a two inch hole in the glass that a bulkhead would go in?

It came with my hob overflow. Dose seem huge to me but better to be to big than to small. I didnt want to use pvc. I did not to to have 90 degree angles but I can adapt it down to a hose. My problem Home depot did even carry a
2'' reducer. What up with that.

If you don't have a place nearby with more pvc fittings then you probably will need to order it online. You don't need to use all pvc, just enough to get it down to a good drain hose size then plug in a drain hose with standard pvc fittings like this.

Hmmmm That another idea there. Looks like a trip to a mom and pop hard ware store tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed.

haha funny you say that. thats kinda where i just got back from. that and my lfs i got my return pump a mag drive 9. could not get the power heads but tomarrows pay day so were good there. got cutting boards to make my sump all my hose. i went with 1.5'' overflow 3/4'' return 4 tubes of aquarium sealicone. now just got to put it together i am deciding where to put the baffles and how big to make the refuge. I am shooting for the biggest refuge as I can. the other compartments will be small but only need them for my skimmer one on efor my pump.
