yes rinse it with saltwater, because it has alot of dieoff from the 2 days, and youll need to take out some water because it will over flow anyways

It may need recured from the die-off from shipping. I wouldnt take any chances. If it were me, I would rinse it and set it up in a rubbermaid container with a powerhead and heater and let it recure. I would rather go through all the steps for nothing than go into a cycle and lose all of my fish.

Like Shogun says, it DOES need to be recured. If you place it in the tank, the tank will get thrown into a very nasty cycle. Plus you really need to pick off all the dead things, scrub it with a NEW clean brush and recure it in a rubbermaid type container or an empty tank being heated and aerated water. It will take 2-3 weeks to cure. You will know when it is done by testing the water. I would also change about 1/2 the water out evry couple of days.

Wow, just to back up what's been said: ANY rock that is out of the water for any length of time MUST be re-cured.
Being out of the water kills life on the rock. Adding that rock to your tank will cause an ammonia spike.

First choice: Get it out. Buy a rubbermade tub, fill with tank water, put a pump to circulate water, and let it cure for a few weeks.
Second, and far less favored choice: Test your tank for ammonia and be prepared for serious water changes for the next month or so.

I would guess the wet/dry will help a bit, but really I'd highly recommend taking the rock out. As you scrubbed it with a toothbrush I'm sure you noticed all of the die off.
Any kind of plastic container that's long and skinny would work great to cure it. I really, really think that is the way to go.
Sorry I didn't respond to your post earlier. KOgle said "if your live rock is cured". Unfortunately the post left out that shipping and taking the rock out of the water for any length of time will "uncure" it.

well im gonna see how it is tomorw since i already waited this long as i just got out of work. i didnt scrub anything with a toothbrush. i literally took it from the box to the tank. i can see some die off on the rock.
if tomrorw the amm. is high is it too late to take out the rock and cure it? and should i put all my rock in it, even the rock that has been in the tank for a while since the new rock is touching it?

i see things that look like dead plants and stuff. i dont no what to do. i feel like i should take out the rock and cure it. but i also feel like its too late. what will happen to all the dead stuff on my rock if i leave it in there? will it go away or get ate by the snails and hermits?

Not too late. Especially if you didn't scrub the dead off first you really need to get it out.

Yes, if for nothing else than peace of mind. Put the rock in the tub of display water just to be certain that there is no die off.

im wasted right now so bare with me. should i take out the water and NEW rock...not the old rock that was in the tank and tehn scrub it off and put it in a contaner and re cure it with water taht was from our DT.???? adn just do a water change in our dt since we are 10+ gallons short since we put it in the container for curing the rock?>
