You need to find out what caused the cut. What other fish are in the tank? Can you post a digital picture of the cut?

I don't think you should have taken him out of the tank just to take a pic. That stress along with the cut didn't do him any good.
If anything, whatever advice Beth gives, follow it. She's the best.

Yep, removing and handling him dropped his chances to recover considerably. That looks like an attack from another fish. I'm assuming you do not have a quarantine tank.

See if you notice further aggression (I am sure there will be). I'm guessing its coming from the other trigger. He is likely doomed unless you can isolate him (and treat that wound).

Cool thanks for the advice but he uses the the clown trigger like his bodyguard he's actually always trying to beat up the wrasse he's eating and acting pretty normal

One of those fish caused that, and it wasn't the damsel. Trigger on trigger is likely. (Unless you have knife like objects in the tank?) How big is your tank and what are your water readings?

What do you think about the lunar wrasse he's always fighting with him that's when he usually runs to the clown trigger for the for protection

Of course, if he is fighting him, then certainly the wrasse. Do you have the ability to separate the fish?

Yeah I just got myself a quarantine tank to separate him and I guess it's good to have to quarantine any new addition but not anytime soon lol

Is the quarantine cycled? If you just set that up, then it will cycle causing toxic conditions in the there for the trigger.

Put stresscoat in tank. Is there any sign of infection, such as redness around the wound or redness anywhere? If so, start using Maracyn 2 for saltwater fish. Add zoecon or selcon to one of the meals daily and feed him small meals, at least twice a day. What food is being offered?
