so everyone has an ipod video at my school and i dont want to look like part of the crowd so i want something from 30-80gig that plays music, pics and video. i picked out the toshiba gigabeat S30, but soon found out it was getting discontinued. so what good mp4 is out there that can take the place of the ipod?
PS, dont like the zunes very much, i have my reasons

Nokia 800. You're limited to SD card sized memory. So like 8GB I think is the largest card you can get..? It's a little bigger than an ipod, but it's also a UMPC with a high res display 800x480. Wifi & Bluetooth, skype capable. I have the 770 and like it so much, my laptop just sits in the corner collecting dust.

Check out Archos. They have some great players out there. I had one of their original MP3 players years ago and it was really good quality.

the reason people buy the ipod is because they are the best. call them trendy all you want, but their ipod will out last any other mp3 player out, with the possibly exception of the PS3. you get what you pay for.

Ps3, um... thats not a mp3, but ok, and i have seen archos, but im just going to go with the iriver clix 2. oh, and i hate ipods! and you cant do anything about it. and i hate all the bull everyone post like ipods are the best and thats why everyone have them, so not ture, since i have a old 30gig, and a new, 5th gen ipod video. the video sometimes freezes or lags when you go through the songs to quick. and a lot of people have them not cuz namebrand or quality, its because everyone else has one.

I meant PSP. Any you can believe whatever you want, but there is a reason Apple has the majority market share in the MP3 department.

You're welcome.
FYI: The Nokia 770 can be had for $300, probably less if you look around, but it is discontinued and product development has all but ceased. Still has the same basic functionality of the 800 though.
