The stems/bases does not look consistent of xenia, Maybe somebody else can chime in, im afraid it might be aiptasia anemones. Let wait and see.

i bought some rock from my lfs that had the same thing on it and it was aiptasia, i got some pep shrimp and they ate it right up.

what i read about xenia are they like nitrate around 10 ppm with strong flow and strong lighthing to flourish .the reason i get xenias because it can lower your nitrates and spead quickly ...i just had it a week ago and it looks like is growning already

someone on here told me that they dont mind if it is low or high. they do well in either i heard.

I've got some in both. They have done great in both. Not sure which it likes better - but that's my 2c.

Ummm they could be xenia's the aiptasia are more then strain on the polyps. As for your xenia just wait and see if it will heal itself back up but even if dead they can still regrow new babies on its stem depending how well the stem will last.

I just went in and snuck a peek at my Xenia, the babies have a thicker trunk than what is on your rock.
For them to be as tall as yours are, they should be thicker at the base. I think they are aiptasia as well.
I have mine in two clusters, one in a medium flow and one in a high flow and they are both open and pulsing in spite of the current. I would give it a few more days.

I think that the cleaner shrimp and the clown fish and the hermits and my other crab is disterbing the xenia. What do you guys think?

I think i just cout my clown fish red handed!!!!!! I think he was bitting the xenia. Whean i come close to the tank he gos away from the xenia and whean im 10+ feet from the tank he gos right back to the xenia! And earlier to day i cout my clown fish red handed, he ate 1 of the small baby xenia!!!!
